Bollywood Fever: China has signed a series of agreements with Chad and Senegal focusing on infrastructure, energy, water, and communications technology, as part of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in Beijing, according to statements from the countries’ presidencies on Wednesday.
Shifting its strategy toward “small and beautiful projects,” China, the world’s largest bilateral lender, is realigning its relations with developing nations under President Xi Jinping’s vision. These agreements mark a new chapter in China’s investment strategy, focusing on targeted, impactful projects.

Chad signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading Chinese companies in sectors including energy, water, agriculture, infrastructure, and defense. Two MoUs with construction and engineering firm CMEC aim to improve electricity and drinking water access in Chad’s capital, N’Djamena. CAMCE signed agreements to construct an international airport outside N’Djamena and develop modern integrated farms. A project with CGCOC will tackle sanitation and flood prevention in the capital, while an MoU with defense company CATIC aims to enhance Chad’s military capabilities.
Meanwhile, Senegal signed around a dozen agreements with China covering information and communications technology, green development, and media. Chinese President Xi Jinping also announced an unconditional donation of 27 billion CFA francs ($45.80 million) to Senegal, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
These agreements highlight China’s growing focus on fostering sustainable development and modernization projects across Africa, emphasizing energy, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
