In the track “Fuel” featuring JID, Eminem takes direct aim at Diddy, referencing the sexual assault allegations against the hip-hop mogul.
Eminem Takes Shots at Diddy in New Song “Fuel” On Friday, July 12, Eminem released his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce). The title, meaning “final blow,” signals the end of his alter ego Slim Shady. The 19-track project sees Eminem return to his provocative roots, especially on “Fuel,” where he calls out Diddy with lines that reference the numerous sexual assault allegations against him.

The lyrics “I’m like an R-A-P-E-R/I got so many S-As/S-As/Wait, he didn’t just spell the word rapper and leave out a ‘P’, did he?” allude to P. Diddy and the multiple sexual assault allegations against him. Since November, eight lawsuits have been filed against Diddy, alleging rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and violence. One lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, was settled out of court.
Slim Shady Returns After Hiatus Eminem’s latest album follows a period of speculation, initially sparked by Dr. Dre on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March. Eminem confirmed the rumors with a trailer for The Death of Slim Shady during the 2024 NFL Draft, and continued to build anticipation with an obituary in the Detroit Free Press on May 14, detailing Slim Shady’s impact on the rap world.
The album’s promotion included a cryptic teaser trailer on social media on May 20 and a humorous teaser for “Houdini” on May 29, featuring illusionist David Blaine. Following the release of the single “Houdini” on May 31, Eminem dropped the album’s second single, “Tobey,” on June 28, featuring Big Sean and Babytron.
