Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office Reports 16 Casualties, Including Civilians, in US Airstrikes
The office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reported that 16 individuals, including civilians, lost their lives, and 25 others sustained injuries during U.S. airstrikes on pro-Iran targets in Iraq overnight.

In a statement, the office condemned the airstrikes, labeling them a “new aggression against Iraq’s sovereignty.” It refuted claims of coordination between the Baghdad government and Washington before the strikes, dismissing such assertions as “lies.”
The statement expressed concern that the presence of the U.S.-led military coalition in the region has become a threat to security and stability in Iraq, serving as justification for involving the country in regional and international conflicts.
