Trivia
The term Gandhigiri became quite famous and people stated giving red roses to the corrupt official’s so they could realize their mistakes.
Dilip Prabhawalkar was traveling by a tourist bus to Pune, and when he saw that a pirated version of the film was being screened on the bus while the film was still in theaters he immediately stopped the screening and informed the cops.
Sunil Dutt was to do a cameo in the film but he passed away before the shooting of film could start.
Lage Raho Munna Bhai was the first Hindi film to be shown at the United Nations,and was screened at the Tous Les Cinema Du Monde section of the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
Aamir Khan was originally supposed to make a cameo in the film as an unknown character but this role was scrapped during filming.
The film’s original title was Munna Bhai MMG (Meets Mahatma Gandhi).
