Lizzo has reached her limit with online negativity
BollywoodFever, March 30: In a candid Instagram post on Friday afternoon, the Emmy- and Grammy-awarded musician Lizzo, expressed her exhaustion with the constant criticism and negative attention she receives, both personally and online.
“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” she shared. “All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
The 35-year-old singer articulated her struggles with false rumors for attention, being mocked for her appearance, and having her character unfairly judged by people she doesn’t know.
She concluded her heartfelt message with “I quit” and a peace sign emoji, leaving it ambiguous whether she intends to step back from Instagram, all her social media platforms, or possibly her career in music.

Representatives for Lizzo have been contacted by The Hollywood Reporter for further explanation.
This revelation followed closely behind criticism Lizzo faced for her performance at a high-profile fundraiser for President Joe Biden, which also saw contributions from Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Stephen Colbert, Mindy Kaling, Queen Latifah, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo, and Lea Michele at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, an event that successfully raised $26 million, as reported by The Associated Press.
The criticism intensified due to ongoing allegations of sexual harassment and workplace grievances made by Lizzo’s former dancers. Ron Zambrano, the attorney representing the dancers, criticized her role in the Biden fundraiser, stating, “It’s shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations,” and questioning her representation at the event given the serious nature of the allegations.
In response to the lawsuit filed by some of her tour dancers last August, which accused her of creating a sexually charged and hostile work environment, Lizzo has firmly denied any misconduct. She has sought to clear her name, emphasizing her commitment to women’s respect and challenging the portrayal of her as a villain following the allegations.
Despite the legal and public relations challenges, Lizzo has continued to make significant public appearances, including accepting the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award at the Black Music Action Coalition gala, presenting at the Grammy Awards, attending the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, and being part of Vanity Fair’s post-Oscars party in Beverly Hills.
