The company announced a net income of $531 million, significantly surpassing the expected $432 million. Additionally, Mercado Libre reported a 36% growth in sales in Brazil, one of its primary markets.

This impressive performance led to a surge in stock prices, pushing Mercado Libre’s market capitalization to $93 billion as of August 2. This milestone allows Mercado Libre to surpass other major Latin American companies, including Petrobras, which now holds the second position with a market capitalization of $87 billion.
