AC Milan staged a dramatic comeback to draw 3-3 with Sassuolo in Serie A action on Sunday, capped by a late equalizer from substitute Noah Okafor. Milan remains in second place in the standings with 69 points, holding a six-point lead over Juventus with six matches remaining. Sassuolo sits in the 19th spot, deep in the relegation zone, with 26 points. Inter Milan, the leaders with 82 points, were set to play Cagliari later that day.
The match began with Sassuolo quickly taking the lead when Andrea Pinamonti scored in the fourth minute, following a flick from Kristian Thorstvedt. They soon doubled their advantage through Armand Lauriente, who capitalized on a deflected shot that fell back to him for an easy finish.
Milan’s Rafael Leao brought his team back into contention 20 minutes into the game with a remarkable solo effort. He dribbled past two defenders and placed the ball into the far corner to reduce the deficit.
The second half continued with high intensity as Lauriente added his second goal of the match shortly after the restart. Milan responded when Luka Jovic scored from a close-range rebound just before the hour mark.
The comeback was complete six minutes from time when Okafor, who had just come on as a substitute, found space inside the box and fired home a precise shot to ensure Milan left with a point.
