The win secured a playoff berth for the two-time defending WNBA champions, who now share fourth place in the standings with the Seattle Storm at 18-12.
Tiffany Hayes contributed a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Kelsey Plum added 18 points and four assists for the Aces.
Their collective effort helped Las Vegas hold off a determined Atlanta team that is still fighting for the final playoff spot.
The Dream, now 10-21, suffered their fourth consecutive loss, leaving them one game behind Chicago for the eighth and final playoff position.
Allisha Gray led the Dream with 17 points, while Rhyne Howard scored a team-high 23 points despite struggling with her shooting, going just 4 of 19 from the field and 1 of 10 inside the arc. Jordin Canada added 10 points for Atlanta.
In a game where every possession counted, Chelsea Gray stepped up for the Aces in the closing minutes.
Although she scored just four points, they came at crucial moments. With less than three minutes left and Las Vegas leading by 10, Gray made a steal and followed it up with a pullup jumper to extend the lead to 77-67.
After the Dream cut the lead to seven, Gray delivered a fadeaway jumper in the lane, sealing the game at 81-72 with just over a minute remaining.
The Aces started strong, with Tiffany Hayes scoring 10 points in the first quarter to give Las Vegas a 22-18 lead.
A’ja Wilson then took control in the second quarter, scoring 14 points by halftime to help the Aces extend their lead to 44-38.
With their playoff spot secured, the Aces will look to continue their strong play as they aim for a deep postseason run.
Meanwhile, the Dream will need to regroup quickly if they hope to secure the final playoff berth in the WNBA.
