Top streamer Amouranth’s ASMR channel with 749K subscribers has been banned by YouTube for “sexual content.” The channel’s deletion adds to her challenging month.
Bollywood Fever: Twitch and Kick streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa, one of the most popular content creators globally, has been banned from YouTube for allegedly posting “sexual content” on her ASMR channel.
The ban led to the complete deletion of her channel, which had amassed 749,000 subscribers.
On August 20, Amouranth announced that her entire ASMR channel was “removed without warning” following the upload of a video.
According to the streamer, the video simply featured her “brushing the mic with a paintbrush.”
Visitors to Amouranth’s ASMR channel are now greeted with a message stating, “This page isn’t available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else.”
After tagging YouTube on X/Twitter, Amouranth received a response from the platform’s official support team, who asked for more details about the incident.
Following a review, YouTube’s policy team confirmed that the channel’s termination was justified, citing the platform’s Nudity and Sexual Content policy as the reason for the decision. “Appreciate your understanding of our need to make this tough call,” YouTube stated.
Amouranth’s ASMR channel, created in 2014, had accumulated 171 uploads and over 76 million views before its deletion.
Despite this setback, her other YouTube accounts, including her main channel with 999,000 subscribers, remain active.
ASMR content, known for providing a relaxing experience through sounds and whispers, has been popular on platforms like Twitch, TikTok, and YouTube.
However, it has also sparked controversy, with some creators, including Amouranth, facing bans for pushing the boundaries of what is considered appropriate content. Amouranth and others have previously been penalized for actions like “ear-licking” their microphones during ASMR broadcasts.
As of now, Amouranth has not publicly responded to YouTube’s explanation for the ban, and it remains unclear whether she intends to appeal the decision.
This ban marks yet another challenge for Amouranth during a difficult August.
In addition to losing her title as the most-watched female streamer, she has been dealing with ongoing harassment from a stalker and unauthorized merchandise being sold using her name and likeness on Amazon.
