BollywoodFever: Chicago Sky star Angel Reese continues to make waves on and off the court. The former LSU standout has become a driving force in the growth of women’s basketball, with her rivalry with Caitlin Clark pushing the sport to new heights. While Reese’s rookie WNBA season was cut short due to wrist surgery, her impact remains undeniable.
On Sunday, Reese returned to her hometown of Baltimore to cheer on the Ravens from the sideline, and one of the team’s biggest stars took a moment to recognize her influence. Ravens All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey spotted Reese and made sure to approach her for a handshake, letting her know just how much she has contributed to the sport’s growing popularity.
I watch women’s basketball because of you,” Humphrey told Reese, acknowledging her pivotal role in expanding the game’s fan base.
Reese wasn’t alone in attending the game. She was joined by other DMV sports legends, including Olympic champions Masai Russell and Quincy Wilson, as well as Carlton “Bub” Carrington of the Washington Wizards. Reese and Carrington share a special bond, both hailing from Baltimore and attending Saint Frances Academy.
As Reese continues her recovery from wrist surgery, she’s been keeping busy with her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, where she discusses a wide range of topics. She is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league, co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The league’s games will be held in Miami, and Reese’s return is highly anticipated.
