Anne Hathaway enjoyed a relaxing yacht day with her husband, Adam Shulman, and their sons, Jonathan and Jack, during a family holiday in Greece on Tuesday. The actress, 41, donned a brown swimsuit paired with paisley trousers as she boarded the yacht owned by Valentino co-founder Giancarlo Giammetti. After a leisurely lunch with Giammetti, which he shared on Instagram, Hathaway prepared to soak up the sun.

Hathaway’s husband Adam, whom she married in 2012, and their sons, Jonathan, eight, and Jack, four, joined her for the holiday.

This serene getaway comes amidst renewed buzz about a potential sequel to the 2008 film, The Devil Wears Prada. Earlier this year, Hathaway addressed the possibility of a sequel while attending the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Despite fans’ excitement, Hathaway expressed doubts about revisiting the story.

“I don’t think a continuation of that story is probably ever gonna happen,” Hathaway told E! News. However, she expressed a desire to work again with co-stars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, but in a different project rather than reprising their Devil Wears Prada roles. Hathaway also mentioned her interest in collaborating again with the film’s director, David Frankel.

Hathaway suggested that the original film’s success was due to the perfect combination of stars and creative talent at just the right moment in their careers. She warned that a sequel might not capture the same magic. “The truth of the matter is — with any film — all we can do is make it,” Hathaway explained, emphasizing the team’s hard work and the love fans have for the original movie.

Amidst an era of underwhelming sequels, Hathaway seemed reluctant to risk tarnishing the legacy of The Devil Wears Prada. “Let’s just keep the thing that we all agree with love,” she said, reassuring fans that they “don’t need to worry about a sequel” potentially diminishing their fond memories of the original.

Hathaway’s remarks followed her reunion with Streep and Blunt onstage at the SAG Awards to present the award for best actor in a comedy series. Their humorous interaction on stage referenced their roles as assistants to Streep’s formidable Miranda Priestly in the beloved film.

For the planned sequel, Disney has reportedly enlisted screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, who adapted the 2006 film from Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel. According to Variety, the sequel will follow Miranda Priestley’s career in the present, amidst the decline of traditional magazine publishing.

While fans are excited about the potential comeback, many insist on having the original cast, including Hathaway, return. In the original film, Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs is an ambitious journalist who lands a job as a junior personal assistant to the demanding editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine, Miranda Priestly, played by Streep.

As news of the sequel circulates, it coincides with the debut of a musical adaptation in London’s West End, featuring Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly and new music by Elton John. The storyline follows Miranda Priestley navigating the evolving landscape of luxury advertising.

It remains to be seen whether Hathaway, along with other key cast members like Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker, Adrian Grenier, Gisele Bundchen, and Tracie Thoms, will reprise their roles.
