Ariana Madix’s Brother Jeremy Arrested for Marijuana Trafficking
Jeremy Madix, brother of Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, was arrested for marijuana trafficking after being caught with 76 pounds of weed at Orlando International Airport. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
Bollywood Fever: Jeremy Madix, the younger brother of Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, was arrested after being caught with suitcases filled with 76 pounds of marijuana at Orlando International Airport earlier this year.
The incident occurred on February 16, when Jeremy, 31, and his friend Jonah Ahad were attempting to fly from Orlando, Florida, to Frankfurt, Germany.
Court documents obtained by Page Six reveal that airport agents discovered a “large amount of green leafy substance in vacuum-sealed bags” in the men’s luggage. Upon field testing, the substance was confirmed to be cannabis.
Jeremy was found with 64 bags of marijuana, while his friend had 31 bags, weighing a total of about 37 pounds.
Jeremy and his friend refused to speak to investigators without an attorney present and were not arrested immediately.
However, Ahad was booked in May, and Jeremy was eventually taken into custody at his home in Oceanside, California, on July 10 before being extradited to Florida.
Jeremy is currently facing felony charges for marijuana trafficking, which could result in a sentence of up to 30 years in prison and a $200,000 fine, according to Florida law.
As of a court filing last Wednesday, Jeremy was still being held without bond, and his lawyers were advocating for his release.
Several letters from family and friends were submitted by Jeremy’s attorneys, attesting to his “good character.” His mother, Tanya Madix, described him as a “wonderful loving son” who is “kind” and well-respected by his peers.
However, notably absent was a letter from his sister Ariana Madix, who has been estranged from Jeremy in recent months.
The strained relationship between the siblings reportedly stems from Jeremy’s decision to stand up for his fiancée, which led to a fallout with Ariana.
Despite this, Jeremy has clarified that his distancing from Ariana is unrelated to the “Scandoval” cheating scandal involving her ex, Tom Sandoval, which gained widespread media attention last year.
As Jeremy faces serious legal consequences, the Madix family must navigate this difficult chapter while dealing with the ongoing public scrutiny of their lives.
