An Arkansas father was arrested following a fatal confrontation over his 14-year-old daughter, involving a man previously charged with stalking her. Learn more about the tragic case.
BollywoodFever: An Arkansas father, Aaron Spencer, has been arrested after a confrontation over his 14-year-old daughter resulted in the shooting death of 67-year-old Michael Fosler.
The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call early on October 8, concerning a missing juvenile. While en route, deputies learned that Spencer had located his daughter in a vehicle with Fosler, leading to a confrontation between the two men.

Sheriff John Stanley confirmed that Michael Fosler was pronounced dead at the scene, and Aaron Spencer was taken into custody. While Spencer was initially charged with Murder in the First Degree, Sheriff Stanley emphasized that the charges were preliminary and that it would be up to prosecutors to determine formal charges. “This is a tragic situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with all those involved,” Stanley said.
The case has since garnered public attention, particularly after Spencer’s wife, Heather Spencer, took to social media, calling her husband’s arrest “outrageous.” She claimed their daughter had been targeted, groomed, and raped by Fosler, a former family acquaintance. Fosler had been arrested in July on charges of internet stalking of a child and sexual assault but was released on bond.
According to Heather, the family had a no-contact order against Fosler and was unaware that their daughter had been communicating with him again. She alleged that when Aaron discovered their daughter with Fosler, he believed she was in immediate danger. Heather described a high-speed chase that ended in an accident, after which Aaron retrieved their daughter.
Heather defended her husband’s actions, writing, “He did what he had to do to protect himself and our minor child.” She insisted that her daughter “would not have come home” if Aaron had not intervened.
Sheriff Stanley clarified that the investigation is ongoing and will determine whether the shooting was justified or not. He acknowledged the complexity of the case, stating, “I absolutely do not support predators,” while explaining that when authorities arrive at a scene involving a homicide, it must be investigated thoroughly to determine the facts.
Aaron Spencer has since been released on bail, and investigators are working to complete the case file to submit to the prosecutor for further review.
