Rico Wade, a pivotal figure in the Atlanta rap scene known for his collaborations with Outkast, Goodie Mob, and Killer Mike, has passed away at the age of 52.
His family announced the news with a heartfelt statement on Saturday morning, expressing their profound sadness at his sudden and unexpected passing. “Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a talented individual who touched the lives of so many. We ask that you respect the legacy of our loved one and our privacy at this time,” they stated. Details surrounding his death have not been disclosed.

Wade leaves behind his mother, two sons, his wife Debbie Wade, and several siblings. He was a founding member of the Dungeon Family collective in the early 1990s, alongside Ray Murray and Sleepy Brown. This influential group included artists such as Big Boi, André 3000, CeeLo Green, and Wade’s younger cousin, Future.
