Aubrey Plaza reveals she hasn’t seen her Emmy-nominated role in The White Lotus, citing difficulties with streaming platforms and a preference for physical media.
Bollywood Fever: Aubrey Plaza may have earned an Emmy nomination for her standout performance in The White Lotus, but the actress recently confessed that she hasn’t actually watched any episodes of her season yet.
In a video interview with The Wall Street Journal, Plaza revealed that she played Harper Spiller in season two of Mike White’s acclaimed HBO anthology series but hasn’t had the chance to view her work on screen.
“I still haven’t, but I’m going to,” Plaza admitted. “To be honest, I had trouble opening my HBO Max account when I was trying to watch it originally. I couldn’t figure out the password, and I usually just give up when I can’t figure out the passwords. I just can’t handle things like that.” Plaza added, “I’d love a DVD, but they don’t send DVD sets anymore. I ask them every time.”
Plaza, known for her role in Parks and Recreation, has never been a big fan of streaming platforms.
In fact, she told Vanity Fair last year that she often gets “really angry” when using these services. “I was trying to watch Top Chef season 20.
Couldn’t figure out how to fucking get Hulu + Live. I give up! I can’t. I just can’t,” Plaza shared. “So what I like to do is go on iTunes and buy movies that are old. Or I’ll go on iTunes and just, like, buy the whole Sopranos series, and then my husband will be like, ‘You literally can watch that for free on HBO Max.’”
Despite her struggles with streaming, Plaza’s performance in The White Lotus earned her an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series last year.
Fans of the show can look forward to The White Lotus returning for its third season in 2025.
