A 73-year-old woman and her 79-year-old husband, who has dementia, have gone missing from their home at a Southern California nudist ranch. Authorities are conducting a search.
Bollywood Fever: Authorities in Southern California are conducting an urgent search for a missing elderly couple who were last seen leaving their home at a nudist ranch over the weekend.
Stephanie Menard, 73, and her husband, Daniel Menard, 79, were reported missing on Sunday to the Redlands Police Department by a concerned friend, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The couple’s unlocked car was discovered later on Sunday not far from their residence, but there were no signs of them inside. Their phones, along with Stephanie’s purse, were found inside their home, adding to the mystery of their disappearance. The couple’s small Shih Tzu dog, named Cuddles, is also missing.
Daniel Menard, who is diagnosed with diabetes and dementia, was last seen along with his wife on Saturday morning near their home. The Menards reside at the Olive Dell Ranch nudist resort, located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
A friend of the couple, Tammie Wilkerson, expressed her concern and confusion over the situation in an interview with KABC-TV. “They’re very sweet people,” Wilkerson said. “There’s not a mean bone in their body at all, which makes this very confusing.”
Authorities are continuing their search efforts, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Redlands Police Department.
