Bollywood Fever: Bangladesh secured a historic 2-0 series sweep against Pakistan by winning the second Test in Rawalpindi by six wickets on Tuesday.
The victory marks Bangladesh’s first-ever Test series win over Pakistan, capping off a remarkable performance by the visitors.
Chasing a target of 185 runs, Bangladesh comfortably reached the goal with more than a session to spare, thanks to valuable contributions from Zakir Hasan (40), Najmul Hossain Shanto (38), and Mominul Haq (34).
The team resumed the final day on 42 for no loss, and despite losing Zakir and Shadman Islam in the morning session, their victory was never in doubt.
After the lunch break, Shanto was dismissed, and Mominul threw away his wicket, but veterans Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan guided Bangladesh to victory without any drama.
Mushfiqur remained unbeaten on 22, while Shakib, who finished on 21 not out, sealed the win by striking a four off spinner Abrar Ahmed through the covers.
The series sweep is a significant achievement for Bangladesh, who won the first Test by 10 wickets, marking their first-ever Test victory over Pakistan.
This dominant performance in Rawalpindi underscores the team’s growing strength and resilience on the international stage.
