Blackpink’s Lisa and Rosalía release their powerful new pop single “New Woman,” featuring a dynamic music video. Co-written by Tove Lo and produced by Max Martin and Ilya, the track marks Lisa’s latest solo venture.
Bollywood Fever: Blackpink’s Lisa and Rosalía have joined forces for a vibrant new pop single titled “New Woman,” which debuted Thursday alongside an energetic music video. The track, co-written by Swedish pop sensation Tove Lo and produced by hitmakers Max Martin and Ilya, showcases Lisa’s evolving artistry under her own label, LLoud Co., in partnership with RCA Records.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the visually captivating video opens with Lisa delivering rapid-fire verses that speak of overcoming challenges and embracing her rebirth as a “New Woman” with a “revved up aura.” In true Lisa style, the lyrics pack a punch as she sings, “Bitch, you better swerve / Revving up my uh-uh-uh-uh-aura,” before introducing the track as a collaboration between “Lalisa and Rosalía.”

The song takes a surprising turn about a minute in, when Rosalía enters with her signature whispered Spanish lyrics, delivering the powerful line, “Yo vivo pa’ cantar, no canto pa’ vivir” (“I live to sing, not sing to live.”) The blend of their distinct styles creates a dynamic track that is both empowering and infectious.
“New Woman” follows Lisa’s recent single “Rockstar,” produced by Ryan Tedder and Sam Homaee, marking her first solo release in three years. As a member of the globally successful K-pop group Blackpink, Lisa continues to make waves both in music and beyond.
Fans can look forward to seeing Lisa perform live at the Global Citizen Festival in September, where she will share the stage with Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro. Additionally, Lisa is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, following in the footsteps of her bandmate Jennie, who starred in the HBO drama The Idol in 2023.
