Josh Pearson and Danielle Bamber, victims of a Blackpool house fire, are mourned as their infant son remains in a coma. Investigation into the tragic blaze is underway.
Bollywood Fever: The victims of a devastating house fire in Blackpool have been identified, while their infant son remains in a coma. Josh Pearson, 28, and Danielle Bamber, 24, lost their lives in the blaze that ravaged their terraced home on Wednesday. Firefighters heroically rescued their two children, who were immediately taken to the hospital.
Eighteen-month-old Lorenzo remains in a coma, while his six-year-old brother Oscar is in stable condition. Tragically, Danielle was pronounced dead at the scene when the fire erupted in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Josh was rushed to the hospital but also succumbed to his injuries.

Tributes have poured in for the couple, described by loved ones as “beautiful angels.” Jacqueline Pearson, Josh’s sister, expressed her grief in a heartfelt post, calling Josh the “best brother ever.” She wrote, “I feel sick internally to be writing this, Joshua you were the best brother ever. I love you so so much. I cannot believe this has happened to you. I won’t ever forget our phone call the other day and the amount we were laughing. I’ll cherish our memories forever! I love you forever and always. Danielle, you are going to be sadly missed! I’m so sorry this has happened to both of you! I love you both so much! Rest in peace my beautiful angels.”
A courageous neighbor reportedly smashed a window to raise the alarm. Fire crews managed to save the two young children, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
Danielle’s close friend, Codie Lee, 24, described the couple as “bubbly, caring” people and shared that their families are “absolutely heartbroken” at their loss. She said, “I knew Danielle from high school year 7, from wagging school together, causing mayhem together, to growing up and her becoming a parent. Danielle and Josh were a couple. Both passed away in the house fire, leaving their 18-month-old in a coma and their six-year-old stable but in hospital. They were both loud, bubbly people, outgoing, always down for a laugh and just caring people at heart, always making memories with the kids.”

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service provided details of the incident: “At 02:35 on Wednesday, 17th July 2024, four fire engines from Blackpool, South Shore, and Bispham fire stations attended a fire involving a domestic property on Peter Street in Blackpool. Crews used three hose reels, six breathing apparatus, and two positive pressure ventilation fans to fight the fire. One fire engine remains at the scene.
“Tragically, a woman in her 20s was found deceased at the scene. A man in his 20s was later pronounced deceased at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this devastating time.
“Two children have been taken to the hospital for treatment. One of them is very poorly. Work is ongoing with our colleagues from Lancashire Police to establish the cause of the fire.”
