Bollywood Fever: Brad Pitt has no plans to drop his lawsuit against ex-wife Angelina Jolie, despite her appeals to end their bitter legal battle over the co-ownership of Chateau Miraval, insiders have revealed. The couple, who purchased the idyllic French winery in 2008, have been embroiled in a dispute since Jolie sold her half for $67 million in October 2021 without Pitt’s consent.
Sources have told DailyMail.com that Pitt, 60, sees no reason to withdraw his lawsuit, viewing it as a straightforward business dispute, despite Jolie’s attempts to frame herself as a victim to encourage a settlement. “Brad is not going to drop this lawsuit – why would he? This was a very standard business dispute but unfortunately, Angelina has consistently introduced personal elements that are meant for a divorce court,” an insider stated.
The dispute intensified over non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), which have become a central issue. Jolie, 49, has publicly asked Pitt to “end the fighting” and drop the lawsuit to allow their family to heal. However, sources close to Pitt believe Jolie’s plea is a strategic move, driven by her realization that her legal position may not be as strong as she initially thought.
“Angelina is asking him to put an end to the fighting as if she is a peacemaker. This is nothing more than to paint herself as the victim. This is not a fight. This is a business dispute over the sale of property that was ultimately going to be for their kids. It was their inheritance, and she knows this,” one source explained.
Another insider argued that Jolie’s introduction of personal issues has complicated the legal proceedings and exposed weaknesses in her case, stating, “Bringing very personal issues into a business lawsuit is backfiring on her. It has exposed the weaknesses in her case and has complicated matters for both parties. She didn’t need to do this.”
Conversely, a source close to Jolie refuted the notion of it being a simple business dispute, accusing Pitt of relentless attacks. “Pitt is the one suing Angelina yet he somehow thinks he can say she’s fighting him. She’s the one out there saying they should focus on healing their family and he should drop his relentless attacks on her, but he’s refusing,” the source said. “Suing her for 67 million dollars because she refused to sign an NDA covering up his abuse is not a ‘simple business dispute.’ All Angelina wants is peace, but he is determined to continue fighting her and blaming everyone but himself for the situation he’s now in.”
Pitt and Jolie, who met in 2004 during the filming of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and married in 2014, share six children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. They filed for divorce in September 2016, marking the beginning of their ongoing legal battles.
