Cleveland Browns DT Dalvin Tomlinson was fined $22,511 for his Week 1 sack on Dak Prescott, sparking controversy over the NFL’s ruling on a hit that wasn’t flagged during the game.

BollywoodFever: Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson will be paying for his Week 1 sack of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, as the NFL handed him a hefty $22,511 fine.

Browns' Dalvin Tomlinson Fined $22,511 for Week 1 Sack on Dak Prescott

According to Akron Beacon Journal reporter Chris Easterling, Tomlinson was penalized for landing with his full body weight on Prescott during the sack, which was not flagged during the game.

Tomlinson’s fine was the largest issued by the league in Week 1, sparking debate among fans who questioned the severity of the penalty for what many viewed as a routine play.

Tomlinson gets fined for a routine sack but Cowboys LB Campbell doesn’t get fined for the hip-drop tackle that injured Njoku lmao,” one fan commented on X, while others echoed frustration, with one fan asking, “Did I miss something? What was wrong with the hit?”

In addition to Tomlinson, Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs was fined $16,883 for an unnecessary roughness penalty during the same game, adding further controversy to the NFL’s disciplinary decisions from Week 1.
