Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark lauds Napheesa Collier’s performance following their matchup, as the Minnesota Lynx clinch a playoff spot with a 90-80 victory.
Bollywood Fever: The Indiana Fever faced a formidable challenge on the road against the Minnesota Lynx, a team led by WNBA All-Star and Team USA standout Napheesa Collier.
Despite a strong effort, the Fever fell 90-80, with Collier delivering a standout performance that drew high praise from Indiana’s rookie sensation, Caitlin Clark.
Collier dominated the game, scoring a game-high 31 points on an impressive 12-of-18 shooting from the field, making 66.7% of her shots.
Her performance not only surpassed her season averages of 20.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game but also played a crucial role in securing the Lynx’s victory.
After the game, Clark shared her admiration for Collier’s skill, expressing amazement at some of the shots the 27-year-old made during the game.

“She’s the staple of their team,” Clark remarked. “She does so much for their team. There were a few times where she made a few shots, and I caught myself like… dang… can’t guard that. I don’t really do that often.”
With this win, the Minnesota Lynx clinched a spot in the WNBA playoffs and solidified their position as the No. 1 team in the Western Conference standings, boasting a 22-8 record.
The victory also extended the Lynx’s winning streak to six games, making them the hottest team in the league.
The game held additional significance as it coincided with the jersey retirement of WNBA legend Maya Moore.
Caitlin Clark also had a solid performance in the matchup, recording 23 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.
The rookie has been a standout in the WNBA, leading all rookies with averages of 17.8 points and 8.3 assists per game.
Despite the loss, Clark and the Fever had been riding a two-game win streak before facing the Lynx.
Clark will have a chance to help the Fever bounce back when they take on the Atlanta Dream on August 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET, as they look to get back in the win column.
