Caitlin Clark remains winless in her WNBA career as the Indiana Fever dropped to 0-3 in the 2024 regular season following a 91-80 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday.
Despite the Fever’s third consecutive loss, their performance against the Liberty showed improvement from their game just two days earlier on May 18. Clark, who only scored 9 points in that initial game, responded to criticism by delivering an impressive 22 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds against the Liberty. She also sank several three-pointers reminiscent of her iconic tenure at Iowa.
Fever head coach Christie Sides addressed the media after Saturday’s loss, making sure to commend her star player.
“Kelsey [Mitchell] and Caitlin are a problem,” Sides said. “You know, their speed is unbelievable… and it’s just going to be really hard for defenses to stay with them.”
Sides is hopeful that the Connecticut Sun’s defense will struggle to keep up with Clark when the teams face off again on Monday night.
