After his eviction from Big Brother, Cedric Hodges discusses the challenges facing his Pentagon alliance with Tucker Des Lauriers as the new Head of Household. Cedric shares his thoughts on the rivalry and Tucker’s future in the game.
Bollywood Fever: Following his eviction from Big Brother, Cedric Hodges is opening up about the uphill battle his Pentagon alliance now faces, especially with Tucker Des Lauriers being crowned the next Head of Household (HOH). Cedric, 21, spoke exclusively with Us Weekly on Friday, August 16, about his concerns for his former allies and his rivalry with Tucker.
“Brooklyn [Rivera] is gonna have a really hard time because she campaigned for me so hard,” Cedric revealed, referring to his fellow Pentagon member. “I believe that the other two, Cam [Sullivan-Brown] and Chelsie [Baham], kind of spread their lies and deceit so they can roll with it. I don’t know how they’re gonna fare.”
At the time of the interview, Cedric hadn’t yet learned the results of the HOH competition. When Us Weekly informed him that Tucker, 30, had won the iconic wall competition, Cedric immediately recognized the implications for his allies. “OK. Tucker won the wall comp,” Cedric said, adding, “Makes sense. So they’re in trouble.”
Tucker’s victory didn’t come as a complete surprise to Cedric, who acknowledged Tucker’s status as the “comp beast” of the season. In addition to his HOH win, Tucker has secured two Power of Vetoes and two victories in the AI Arena. “Bro’s a beast, Bro’s a comp beast, and it’s literally a pure physical and mental challenge,” Cedric admitted, noting his disappointment in not being around to see how the week would play out.
Cedric’s Pentagon alliance, which included Cam, 25, Chelsie, 27, Brooklyn, 34, and Quinn Martin, initially seemed to be in control of the game. However, internal fractures and strategic missteps led to Cedric’s downfall. Quinn’s decision to use the Deep Fake HOH power to shift the nominations set off a chain of events that ultimately led to Cedric’s eviction.
The Collective, a larger group that included all Pentagon members along with T’Kor Clottey and Kimo Apaka, became unstable when Quinn revealed the Pentagon’s existence to T’Kor and Kimo. This move, intended to build trust, backfired, leading to Cedric being blindsided as T’Kor and Kimo aimed to weaken the Pentagon alliance.
Despite their rivalry, Cedric holds no personal grudges against Tucker, though he questions Tucker’s longevity in the game. “I love Tucker and respect him as a man,” Cedric shared. “But as a player, it’s still a rivalry [and] he got the best of me … I don’t think he’s long for the game. He’s weighed too much on the competitiveness of Big Brother and lacks the social aspect. So there’s always a front door to leave if you miss a competition like me. But there’s always a back door in Big Brother as well.”
As the Pentagon alliance faces mounting challenges with Tucker in power, Cedric’s eviction marks a turning point in the game, leaving fans eager to see how the remaining houseguests navigate the upcoming weeks.
