Channing Tatum reflects on the day his daughter will eventually watch Magic Mike, discussing the awkward anticipation during an interview with Seth Meyers. Tatum also shares insights into his relationship with Zoë Kravitz and co-parenting with ex Jenna Dewan.
Bollywood Fever: Channing Tatum is gearing up for a moment he knows will be both awkward and inevitable: the day his daughter, Everly, watches Magic Mike.
During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday, August 21, the 44-year-old actor opened up about his thoughts on the day Everly, 11, eventually sees his steamy dance moves in the popular comedy/drama trilogy.
The conversation began as Tatum shared a recent experience of attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour with his daughter. Reflecting on the concert, he humorously noted that he danced differently than usual.
“Well, you also have to make sure you’re not dancing like you dance, you know what I mean? There was none of this,” Tatum joked while mimicking a body roll, adding, “There was zero of that … I’m so grateful that she doesn’t know how I dance.”
When Seth Meyers, 50, asked Tatum when he might let Everly in on his dance moves from Magic Mike, Tatum quipped, “It’s going to be horrifying when it does.”
Tatum shares Everly with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan. The two met while filming the 2006 dance drama Step Up and tied the knot in 2009.
They welcomed Everly in May 2013, before announcing their separation in 2018. Although their divorce has yet to be finalized due to ongoing legal disputes over the intellectual property rights to Magic Mike, they were both declared legally single in 2019.
Since their split, Dewan, 43, has moved on with actor Steve Kazee. The couple began dating in October 2018, six months after her separation from Tatum.
They announced their engagement in February 2020 and welcomed their son, Callum, the following month. In January, Dewan and Kazee shared the news of their second pregnancy, and they welcomed their daughter, Rihannon, in June.
Meanwhile, Tatum found love again with actress Zoë Kravitz after her divorce from Karl Glusman was finalized.
The couple met on the set of Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice (formerly titled Pussy Island), and started dating in August 2021.
Kravitz, 35, who specifically chose Tatum for a role in the film, expressed her admiration for his feminist views, saying, “[He was the one] I thought of when I wrote this character. I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”
Two years into their relationship, Tatum and Kravitz took their romance to the next level, getting engaged in October 2023.
