China’s foreign ministry announced countermeasures against nine U.S. military-linked firms, including Sierra Nevada Corporation, over weapons sales to Taiwan, freezing their assets within China.
BollywoodFever: China’s foreign ministry announced on Wednesday that it has implemented countermeasures against nine U.S. military-linked firms in response to U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan.
The measures, effective immediately, target companies including Sierra Nevada Corporation and Stick Rudder Enterprises LLC, according to a statement from the ministry.
As part of the countermeasures, China has frozen the property of these firms within its borders.
Additionally, organizations and individuals in China are now prohibited from engaging in transactions with the sanctioned firms.
The move reflects China’s ongoing opposition to U.S. arms sales to Taiwan, which Beijing considers a violation of its sovereignty.
This is the latest development in the escalating tensions between the U.S. and China over Taiwan, with both nations imposing sanctions and countermeasures in response to military and diplomatic actions.
