Bollywood Fever: Christina Hall and Josh Hall’s divorce has quickly turned contentious, with the HGTV star accusing her estranged husband of transferring $35,000 of her money into his personal bank account.
According to court documents obtained by ET, the Flip or Flop star, 41, claims “Josh was able to divert over $35,000 of my separate property rental income into his account.” She further states, “I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance for these rental properties.“
Christina, who owns rental properties in Franklin, Tennessee, and Nashville, alleges that Josh contacted her property manager via text on July 8, one day after they filed for divorce, requesting the June payments be sent to a different account. She included a screenshot of the text in her filing and learned about the account change on July 21.
Christina disputes Josh’s implication that she authorized the change, stating, “I had no personal contact with Josh on July 8, 2024, and I would not have asked him to send himself my money the day after I told him we are getting divorced.” She claims the property manager complied, believing the request was authorized, and sent the funds to Josh’s Wells Fargo Bank account.
In her court documents filed in Orange County Superior Court, California, Christina is requesting a judge order Josh to return the money and grant her exclusive use of their Newport Beach residence. Though the home is jointly titled, she claims all funds used to purchase it came from the sale of her previous home in Dana Point.
The couple’s financial disputes and issues over their marital home suggest a prolonged and acrimonious divorce. Christina states that Josh’s attorney demanded she preserve electronic evidence without automatic deletion, prompting her to unplug security cameras to prevent overwriting the hard drive. She objects to Josh reactivating the cameras during his visits, which she believes allows him to surveil her and her children.
Additionally, Christina preemptively addressed potential spousal support, stating, “I understand that at some point this court may require that I pay some spousal support to Josh and reasonable attorney’s fees to his counsel.” She argues that Josh has his own income and assets and should not need support from her.
Christina expressed shock over the alleged diversion of $35,000 on the day after their separation date and questioned what other financial actions Josh might have taken, prompting her to initiate a full forensic accounting for their marriage.
Christina and Josh filed for divorce earlier this month after nearly three years of marriage. They secretly wed in April 2022 and celebrated their union with a second ceremony in Hawaii that September, attended by Christina’s children. Christina shares daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and son Hudson, 4, with Ant Anstead.
