Bollywood Fever: Los Angeles Dodgers’ left-hander Clayton Kershaw is poised to make his first start of the season on Thursday, facing off against the San Francisco Giants. The announcement was made by Manager Dave Roberts on Saturday night following the Dodgers’ thrilling 7-6, 11-inning victory over the Boston Red Sox.
Kershaw, 36, and a three-time NL Cy Young Award winner, underwent surgery on his left shoulder in November. He signed a one-year contract with an option for 2025, showing his commitment to returning strong for the Dodgers.
In a recent rehabilitation start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday night, Kershaw pitched four innings, allowing three runs on six hits, with two strikeouts and no walks. Earlier, on June 19, he threw three innings in a rehab start for Class A Rancho Cucamonga but was subsequently shut down for a week due to lingering soreness.
The Dodgers will also see the return of right-hander Tyler Glasnow for the series against San Francisco. Glasnow, who has been sidelined for the past couple of weeks due to back tightness, is scheduled to start on Wednesday.
Kershaw’s return is highly anticipated as he brings experience and skill to the Dodgers’ pitching roster. His comeback, along with Glasnow’s return, bolsters the team’s rotation as they aim to strengthen their position in the league. Fans and teammates alike are eager to see Kershaw back on the mound, showcasing the resilience and talent that have defined his illustrious career.
