The Dallas Cowboys triumphed over the Giants 20-15, but injuries to Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence cast doubt on their availability for Week 5 against the Steelers.
BollywoodFever: The Dallas Cowboys emerged victorious against their NFC East rivals, the New York Giants, with a 20-15 win on Thursday night, thanks in part to their dominant run defense, which held the Giants to just 26 total rushing yards.Â
However, the win came at a cost, as the Cowboys lost two of their top defensive players, Demarcus “Tank” Lawrence and All-Pro Micah Parsons, to injuries during the game.
Lawrence, who notched the Cowboys’ only sack of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, exited the game in the third quarter with a foot injury.
His ability to generate pressure off the edge will be sorely missed if he is unavailable for next week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Micah Parsons, the standout linebacker, sustained an ankle/foot injury in the fourth quarter and was seen limping in the locker room after the game.
“Right now, I just iced it,” Parsons said during the post-game press conference. “I know very little. I’ve got an MRI scheduled for Friday, and I’m going to try to get back next week.”
Lawrence is also scheduled for an MRI on Friday to assess the severity of his foot injury. Both players underwent X-rays at the stadium, and the initial reports indicated no fractures, but the MRI results will be crucial in determining their status for Week 5.
Despite these setbacks, the Cowboys snapped their two-game losing streak, bringing their season record to 2-2. However, if Lawrence and Parsons are unable to play next week, the Cowboys’ defense could face significant challenges against the Steelers.
