The retired MLB athlete, 48, took to Instagram on Monday, May 8, to announce the happy news. “Welcome to the world lil man!!! @hannahbjeter,” he captioned a post, which simply featured white text on a black background.

Derek and Hannah Jeter have added a new member to their family, naming their son Kaius Green. The baby boy was born on May 5, as per an announcement made by Derek on his Instagram account. While Hannah re-posted the announcement on her Instagram story, she did not divulge any additional details about the birth or their new bundle of joy.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2016, are proud parents to three daughters, namely Bella, Story, and River, aged 5, 4, and 17 months, respectively. Hannah managed to keep her latest pregnancy hidden from the public eye until she gave birth to River in December 2021. The Jeters have kept the arrival of their newest addition a closely guarded secret, surprising their fans and followers with the exciting news.

“I know it’s necessary in my industry, and I absolutely have to when it’s part of a contract. But a lot of people post their children and husbands, and for me, that will never be the case,” she explained to The Editorialist two years prior of why the twosome keep their little ones out of the spotlight. “Both my husband and I have been in a place in our careers where we have to share so much. And we can handle it. But when you love something so much, you want to protect it more than anything in the world. And for me, that’s my relationship, that’s my kids.”

When the former shortstop was honored with his National Baseball Hall of Fame induction at Yankees Stadium in New York City last year, he was joined by his wife and daughters in a rare public outing.

“When the crowd was chanting my name, I was trying to explain to my two oldest [daughters] … what was going on because I thought they may be a little scared or intimidated by the noise,” he said during the September 2022 ceremony, before turning to Bella and Story to add, “I told you this place was special.”

In March, Derek Jeter spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about his experience as a father of three girls and expressed his enthusiasm about being a supportive parent. He acknowledged the significance of having a strong support system and emphasized that his priority is to encourage his daughters to follow their passions while being their biggest cheerleader.

The former New York Yankees player also hopes that his kids will learn important life lessons from playing team sports, but he is not imposing any pressure on them to pursue athletics. Jeter and his wife Hannah constantly find themselves on their toes as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenting three active and curious daughters. As they welcome their newest addition, the couple is undoubtedly prepared to take on the adventure of raising four children with love and devotion.
