An Israeli drone strike in the Tulkarm refugee camp in the West Bank kills three Palestinians, as clashes continue to escalate in the region amid ongoing military operations.
Bollywood Fever: A drone strike carried out during an Israeli military operation in the tense West Bank city of Tulkarm on Thursday resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
The strike occurred in the Tulkarm refugee camp, a densely populated area that houses families who fled during the 1948 Middle East war.
The Israeli military stated that the strike specifically targeted armed militants within the camp. As part of the operation, Israeli troops reportedly confronted fighters and excavated roads to reveal improvised explosive devices (IEDs) buried beneath the surface.
Residents in the area described hearing gunfire and explosions throughout the morning.
Despite the military’s claim, there was no immediate acknowledgment from any Palestinian armed factions that the men killed in the strike were affiliated with them.
Tensions and violent clashes in the occupied West Bank have significantly escalated since the onset of the Gaza war last year.
Israeli forces have intensified operations against various militant groups, including Hamas and the Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad.
This surge in violence has led to the arrest of thousands of Palestinians and the deaths of at least 637 individuals, among them both armed fighters and civilians, including youths involved in stone-throwing.
In parallel, Palestinian attacks have claimed the lives of more than a dozen Israelis in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
In a related development, Palestinian media reported on Thursday that a man killed last week in Tel Aviv, who was allegedly planning a bombing attack, was identified by Israeli security authorities as a resident of Nablus, another highly volatile city in the West Bank.
