Dubai International Airport returns to normal operations following a global system outage that affected check-in processes for some airlines. Flydubai and Emirates experienced minimal impact.
Bollywood Fever: Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports and a major hub for Emirates airline, has resumed normal operations after a global system outage disrupted the check-in process for some airlines.
Dubai Airports announced on Friday that the outage had affected check-in procedures for airlines operating from Terminal 1 and 2. However, the check-in process was quickly switched to an alternative system, allowing normal operations to resume swiftly.
Flydubai, operating out of Terminal 2, reported no impact on its operations. Emirates, which operates from Terminal 3, also reported no immediate impact on its flight operations but warned of potential delays later due to the ripple effect from delayed departures at other airports.
Etihad Airways, operating from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, similarly stated that it was operating normally but acknowledged the possibility of limited delays across its network.
The global system outage caused disruptions for various carriers, media companies, banks, and telecom firms worldwide on Friday, highlighting the widespread impact of the issue on different sectors. Despite the initial challenges, Dubai International Airport and its associated airlines managed to maintain continuity and minimize the disruption to passengers.
