As the Eagles prepare for Week 2 against the Falcons, their top priority is containing Atlanta’s standout rookie Bijan Robinson, who has already amassed over 1,500 yards in his debut season.
BollywoodFever: Despite their 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Atlanta Falcons have plenty of offensive firepower.
First-round receivers Drake London and Kyle Pitts form a dynamic duo for quarterback Kirk Cousins, but the real engine of the Falcons’ offense is rookie sensation Bijan Robinson.
The Texas product has racked up over 1,500 yards in his debut season, including 11 in the team’s recent loss to the Steelers.
Robinson, who was drafted in the top 10 for a reason, has quickly become a top focus for the Philadelphia Eagles as the two teams prepare for their Week 2 matchup.
Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham highlighted the challenge of facing Robinson, calling him “a home-run hitter” and emphasizing the importance of stopping him early.
“He’s fast, a home-run hitter, too, somebody who is trying to punish you because he’s a big guy,” Graham said. “We have to get numbers to the ball with this type of back.
He didn’t go top 10 for no reason, so we have to make sure everything revolves around him.”
Philadelphia’s strategy will focus on making Atlanta one-dimensional, forcing Cousins to take control of the game without the threat of Robinson’s explosive runs.
However, as Graham acknowledged, stopping a premier back like Robinson is easier said than done.
The Eagles know that containing Robinson will be key to avoiding a long day on defense and securing a win against the Falcons.
