EasyJet is investigating a security breach after a man boarded a flight from Manchester Airport to Milan without the proper documentation, causing significant delays.
BollywoodFever: EasyJet has launched an internal investigation after a man managed to board a flight at Manchester Airport without having the correct paperwork. It remains unclear whether he had a boarding pass for another flight or none at all. The airline is working to understand how the individual gained access to the plane, though they have withheld further details due to the ongoing investigation.
A spokesperson for the airline stated that the man had “incorrectly boarded” the aircraft, while passengers referred to the situation as a serious “security breach.” According to reports, the incident occurred on a flight to Milan, Italy, which was already on the runway preparing for take-off when cabin crew members realized the man was not supposed to be onboard.

Manchester Airport confirmed that its security protocols were followed correctly and that the issue arose at the airline gate. Authorities have since launched a formal investigation, with Greater Manchester Police revealing that a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of boarding an aircraft without consent and causing public nuisance. The suspect remains in custody for questioning.
The Manchester Evening News (M.E.N.) has reported that no suspicious items were found on board, and the incident is not being treated as terror-related. EasyJet further confirmed that the flight, numbered EZY2127 from Manchester to Milan, was subject to additional security checks in line with standard procedures.
Passengers on the flight described a scene of disruption, as police boarded the aircraft and removed the man. All passengers were then ordered to disembark and undergo additional screening, while their luggage was also re-inspected.
The scheduled 6:23 PM take-off on Friday was delayed significantly, with the plane ultimately departing at 11:10 PM. The flight landed in Milan nearly five hours behind schedule, just before 2 AM on Saturday.
Greater Manchester Police commented: “At around 7 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024, we responded to reports of a man who had boarded a flight without the correct documentation. Officers arrested a man in his 20s, and he remains in police custody as enquiries continue.” No further details have been provided at this time.
