Emily Ratajkowski claps back at a body shamer after receiving unsolicited fashion advice while filming a TikTok video in NYC. The supermodel’s followers rally behind her in support, praising her confidence and style.
Bollywood Fever: Supermodel Emily Ratajkowski is no stranger to dealing with unsolicited opinions, and she recently put a body shamer in their place after receiving some uncalled-for fashion advice while filming a TikTok video in New York City.
In a video shared on Tuesday, the 33-year-old model captured the moment a man, off-camera, interrupted her walk to say, “Girl, put on a shirt.” The remark, which many have labeled as sexist, was made as Ratajkowski confidently strutted down the sidewalk in a grey tank top with a low-cut neckline, paired with black leggings and a gold choker necklace.
Ratajkowski, who accessorized her casual look with a black shoulder bag, hoop earrings, and QUAY x Guizio glasses, responded by sharing the incident with her 1.7 million TikTok followers. “Wait for it: man tells me to put on a shirt,” she wrote over the footage. The video, which has quickly gained attention, was set to Charli XCX‘s hit track “365” from her latest album Brat.
The Inamorata swimwear founder, who is rumored to be dating singer Shaboozey, captioned the post with, “famously not demure, famously not mindful,” referencing a popular TikTok trend started by Jools Lebron.
Her followers were quick to rally behind her, expressing their outrage and offering support. “Imagine saying that to Emily Ratajkowski,” one commenter marveled. Another added, “Saying that to EMRATA is crazy behavior.”
“The audacity to speak to a stranger like that. You should dress and be whoever you choose to be,” another follower wrote, while someone else asked, “Why put on a shirt when you literally look that good?”
Ratajkowski, who is also a best-selling author, has always been vocal about body positivity and personal freedom, and this latest incident shows she won’t let anyone dictate how she should present herself.
