Eminem’s New Songs Bring Daughter Hailie Jade to Tears

Hailie Jade Scott opens up about the emotional impact of Eminem’s new tracks “Somebody Save Me” and “Temporary,” revealing how they shed light on her childhood and her father’s addiction struggles.

Bollywood Fever: Eminem’s latest songs, “Somebody Save Me” and “Temporary,” have struck a deeply emotional chord with his daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, bringing her to tears and forcing her to confront the painful realities of her childhood.

Hailie shared her reactions on her podcast, “Just a Little Shady,” revealing that watching the music videos, especially for “Save Me,” was a one-time experience she doesn’t plan to repeat.

“I definitely cry every time I hear it at all. Between that and ‘Temporary’ … I audibly sobbed I think for both songs but especially ‘Temporary,’” Hailie confessed, reflecting on the emotional weight these tracks carry.

“Somebody Save Me,” which features Jelly Roll on the hook, is Eminem’s lyrical apology to Hailie and his other children, expressing regret for prioritizing drugs over them during his battle with addiction.

The music video, filled with old home videos of his kids, is especially overwhelming for Hailie.

Meanwhile, “Temporary” is a haunting track where Eminem looks ahead to a time when he’s no longer around, urging Hailie not to grieve for too long and to move forward with her life.

The heavy subject matter has left Hailie grappling with emotions she hadn’t fully realized before.

Hailie admits that listening to these songs made her reflect on how unaware she was of her father’s struggles during her childhood.

“I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up where I didn’t realize how bad things were. But, now as like, an adult in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about. And I think that’s why I get emotional so much, like just thinking that could have happened.”

Her heartfelt comments highlight the terrifying reality of addiction and its impact on families. Eminem himself has been open about his near-fatal overdose in 2007 and the intense addiction that saw him taking around 20 sleeping and pain pills daily.

Eminem marked 16 years of sobriety in April, proudly sharing a photo of himself holding his Alcoholics Anonymous chip to commemorate the milestone.

For Hailie, these new songs have not only deepened her understanding of her father’s past but have also brought to light the strength it took for him to overcome such darkness.

As Hailie continues to process the emotions stirred by these tracks, her story serves as a poignant reminder of the lasting effects of addiction and the importance of healing and forgiveness within families.
