Eva Amurri addresses internet trolls criticizing her wedding dress cleavage, sharing insights and exclusive photos from her intimate Hudson Valley nuptials.
Bollywood Fever: Susan Sarandon’s daughter, actress Eva Amurri, recently responded to internet trolls who criticized her wedding dress for showing cleavage. The 39-year-old actress shared details of her wedding to chef Ian Hock on her Instagram Story, including a humorous close-up of her cleavage with the caption: “And to anyone scandalized by my breasts not being ‘put away’ … Feel free to screenshot this for later,” accompanied by a kissing face emoji.
In previously posted exclusive photos in collaboration with PEOPLE, some critics expressed their disapproval of her dress choice. One commenter bluntly stated, “We know you have them!!!!! You don’t have to display them on a platter!!! 😮😮😮 Yikes!!!” Another person wrote, “This wedding was a DISASTER (the dress being the biggest failure). This comment section, on the other hand, is a GIFT.”
Others criticized the fit of the dress, suggesting it was a poor choice for a strapless gown. However, many fans defended Eva, with one person stating, “I can’t believe how unkind so many of you are in this post! Why is it that you can’t just embrace their happiness and wonderful story rather than try to hurt people?”
Eva’s strapless gown by Kim Kassas received mixed reviews, but she expressed her love for it, saying, “I love how it has a vintage feel and is ultra feminine without being overly pouffy. I wanted to feel sexy but elegant, and I think the dress strikes the perfect balance.”
Eva and Ian Hock tied the knot at Windrift Hall in New York’s Hudson Valley on June 29, over a year after getting engaged in Paris. The intimate garden party-themed event was attended by 40 close family and friends, including Eva’s mother, Susan Sarandon, her ex-stepfather Tim Robbins, and her three children.
This marks Eva’s second marriage, following her eight-year marriage to Kyle Martino, with whom she shares three children: Marlowe Mae, 9, Major James, 7, and Mateo Antoni, 4. Eva incorporated her children into the ceremony, with Major walking her down the aisle and the kids participating in a traditional “hand fasting” ritual with selected ribbons.
“We really wanted to center our little family unit in all of it, and make it as much about the kids as it was about us,” Eva told PEOPLE. “We worked with our officiant to craft a ceremony that felt super personal and intimate, and then focused on our second love of life: food! All we really needed was the beautiful atmosphere, our nearest and dearest, and a delicious party.”
