Bobby McCray files for divorce from Khadijah Haqq, citing irreconcilable differences. The former NFL star seeks joint custody of their three children and spousal support.
Bollywood Fever: Former NFL star Bobby McCray has officially filed for divorce from Khadijah Haqq, more than a year after their initial separation. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, McCray, 43, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, with the filing listing their date of separation as July 7, 2023.
McCray and Haqq, who tied the knot in 2010, share three children together: Christian, 13, Celine, 9, and Kapri, 3. McCray has also requested joint legal and physical custody of their children. Additionally, he has asked for spousal support from Haqq while seeking to terminate the court’s ability to award her spousal support. Haqq has yet to respond to the filing.
The couple’s split first became public in August 2023 when Haqq shared the news on Instagram. “Now more than ever I have been relying on prayer. Family is so important to me,” Haqq wrote. “Unfortunately, life has brought me to [a] tremendous transition. After 13 years of marriage, 16 years together and 4 incredible children, I have come to the intensely difficult conclusion that while Bobby and I have a great deal of love for one [another], it’s best we move forward, separately.”
Haqq emphasized that the decision was not made lightly and that they had kept their marriage private for the sake of their family. “I share this not because I believe it’s newsworthy ~ But so that we go about our lives with honesty and to begin the journey of coparenting,” she added, expressing gratitude for her support system.
Khadijah Haqq, along with her twin sister Malika, is well-known for being close friends with Khloé Kardashian and for their roles in the 2005 movie Sky High. Bobby McCray, who played as an NFL defensive end from 2004 to 2010, was part of teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, and Philadelphia Eagles.
Though Haqq rarely discussed her relationship with McCray publicly, she did share in a 2019 interview on Kin’s Side By Side that she was initially attracted to his stature and the fact that he was a “6’7, 260 lbs., large, Black, adorable man” who “would put on tights every Sunday and cleats and crack quarterbacks for a living.”
