Former TikTok Star Ali Abulaban Sentenced to Life in Prison for Double Murder

Ali Abulaban, known as JinnKid on TikTok, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murders of his estranged wife and her friend in a San Diego apartment.

Bollywood Fever: Ali Abulaban, a former TikTok star known online as JinnKid, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of his estranged wife, Ana Abulaban, and her friend, Rayburn Barron.

The sentencing took place on Friday, September 6, in San Diego, California, following his conviction in May for the double homicide.

The 32-year-old social media personality received two consecutive life sentences, plus an additional 50 years for gun enhancement charges, according to Emily Cox of the San Diego County Superior Court.

The verdict followed a shocking trial in which Abulaban’s cold-blooded actions were condemned by Judge Jeffrey Fraser, who described the murders as “chilling” and “selfish.”

During the sentencing, which was live-streamed on Court TV, Judge Fraser expressed no leniency, telling Abulaban, “You will die in prison. You will never be a free man.” Despite Abulaban’s plea for mercy, claiming, “Being sent to prison forever feels like I’m being sent to hell,” the judge dismissed his remorse, calling him a “very talented actor” who only feared the consequences of his actions.

In a tearful statement, Abulaban defended his actions as the result of a “drug-induced psychosis,” and apologized to the families of both victims. “I am so incredibly sorry to each and every one of you who has been affected by this,” he said. “I cannot imagine the pain I have caused your family.”

The murders took place in October 2021, when Abulaban, estranged from his wife, used a listening device he had secretly installed on their 5-year-old daughter’s iPad to monitor her. Upon hearing another man’s voice in their shared San Diego apartment, he entered the residence and fatally shot Barron three times before turning the gun on Ana, shooting her in the head.

Abulaban’s wife had reportedly texted him hours before her death, writing, “I want you out of my life, once and for all.” The couple had been facing ongoing marital troubles, including allegations of domestic violence and infidelity on Abulaban’s part.
