Google Cloud launches its “Blockchain RPC” service, supporting Ethereum and other blockchain networks, enabling developers to access blockchain data via API calls.
Bollywoodfever: Google Cloud has rolled out a new Blockchain Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service, aimed at supporting the development of web3 applications. Initially, the service will support the Ethereum mainnet and test networks, with plans to expand to additional blockchain networks in the coming year.
This new offering allows developers to interact with blockchain networks through API calls without the need to run a full node. Google Cloud’s RPC solution is compatible with the Ethereum JSON-RPC standard, enabling easy integration into existing applications with minimal modifications.
The service is positioned to compete with other major RPC providers like Infura, Alchemy, QuickNode, and Ankr, offering a high-performance, scalable solution for startups and large enterprises alike. Google Cloud has also introduced a free service tier that accommodates up to 100 requests per second, which is sufficient for building real-time and data-intensive blockchain applications.
In addition to the new RPC service, Google Cloud already provides blockchain infrastructure services like node hosting and data analytics for networks such as Ethereum, Solana, and Aptos.
With the launch of the Blockchain RPC service, Google Cloud continues to solidify its presence in the web3 ecosystem, providing essential tools for developers to build on blockchain technology.
