Sandy Garossino, mother of musician Grimes, has issued an emotional plea to Elon Musk, urging him to allow their son, X Æ A-12, to visit his dying great grandmother in Canada. In a series of heartfelt posts on social media, Garossino tagged Musk, begging him to return the four-year-old boy, known as X, to his family.
Garossino revealed that her 93-year-old mother is in end-of-life care and expressed her mother’s deep wish to see her great-grandson and his siblings one last time. According to Garossino, X was supposed to be with Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, but was taken to France by Musk instead.
“As you know, my 93-year-old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care,” Garossino wrote. “She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time.” She added that her mother had been eagerly anticipating the visit to celebrate her birthday but was heartbroken when the trip was canceled.
Garossino also claimed that Musk has been withholding her grandson’s passport, preventing the visit. Musk and X were recently seen enjoying the Paris Olympics together, raising concerns about the whereabouts and safety of Grimes’ other children, whom she shares with Musk.
In her plea, Garossino wrote, “Where are the other children, and with whom? They are scheduled to be with their mother. They were expected here in Canada.” She continued, “I write with a grandmother’s plea, asking you to honor your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes.”
Grimes, who has been embroiled in a custody battle with Musk since September 2023, reposted her mother’s pleas. The couple, who began their relationship in 2018 and split in 2022, have three children together. The custody battle intensified when Musk sued to “establish the parent-child relationship.”
Amid the turmoil, Grimes also appealed to Musk on social media, urging him to let her see her son. She responded to a post by Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson, asking him to help get Musk to contact her lawyer. Additionally, Grimes directed a post at Shivon Zilis, the mother of three of Musk’s other children, although this post was later deleted.
Musk, who has 12 children with three different women, has faced public scrutiny over his relationship with his children, including his transgender daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson. Vivian, who has publicly criticized Musk for his comments about her transition, has received support from Grimes, who expressed her pride and love for Vivian on social media.
As the public drama continues, Garossino’s plea highlights the personal pain and urgency of the situation, with the family hoping for a resolution that allows the children to visit their great grandmother in her final days.
