Trivia
Highway is adapted from a TV episode of the same name (also written and directed by Imtiaz Ali), from the anthology series Rishtey, which aired on Zee TV.
Imtiaz Ali wanted Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta for the film back in 2005. Later Ayesha Takia replaced her and Bobby Deol stepped in Sunny Deol’s role. In 2006 the film got a grand launch but it never took off. Imtiaz had a falling out with the Deol’s and decided shelve the film until he met another producer.
