A man convicted of trafficking meth in Weld County was found with $50,000 worth of drugs. He was previously convicted of homicide in Mexico.
Mexico, Bollywood Fever: The Weld County District Attorney announced that an illegal immigrant has been convicted of distributing 112 grams of meth and possessing an additional $50,000 worth of meth in his home.
In 2022, an undercover officer from the Weld County Drug Task Force purchased more than five ounces of meth from 45-year-old Olegario Aparicio-Hernandez.
Later that year, in November 2022, Aparicio-Hernandez was arrested during a traffic stop in Greeley for an outstanding warrant related to meth distribution.
Authorities suspect that Aparicio-Hernandez was trafficking the drugs from California to Greeley to distribute them in Weld County. A search of his home revealed 12 pounds of meth with a street value of approximately $50,000.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael Pirraglia highlighted Aparicio-Hernandez’s criminal history, noting that he had been convicted of homicide in Mexico in 2007 and was released from prison in 2015 before coming to Colorado.
“His behavior reflects a complete and blatant disregard for the law and human life, and this won’t be tolerated in Weld County,” Pirraglia said.
