CBS Sports ranks Jalen Brunson as the No. 4 guard in the NBA after his stellar season with the New York Knicks, leading them to the second round of the playoffs.
BollywoodFever: The New York Knicks enjoyed a strong playoff run last season, making it to the second round, thanks in large part to the stellar play of their star point guard, Jalen Brunson.
In a recent ranking by CBS Sports, Brunson was listed as the No. 4 guard in the NBA heading into the 2024 season, cementing his status as one of the league’s premier players.
According to CBS Sports writer James Herbert, Brunson has evolved into a “full-fledged superstar.”
The Knicks rewarded him with a four-year, $156.5 million extension this offseason, a deal that Herbert notes was seen as a “sacrifice” that allows the Knicks to continue building a contender in Brunson’s image.
With three of his former college teammates now alongside him, the Knicks are poised to make deeper playoff pushes in the coming years.
Originally drafted with the 33rd overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in 2018, Brunson is widely regarded as one of the biggest steals of recent NBA drafts.
His rise to stardom has been swift, and he continues to elevate his game season after season.
Last year, Brunson averaged just under 29 points and six assists per game, while maintaining impressive shooting percentages.
Despite serious injuries within the Knicks roster, Brunson’s leadership helped guide New York to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
If Brunson can build on his impressive 2023 campaign and continue to improve, he has the potential to further solidify himself as one of the league’s best guards.
As the Knicks aim to make deeper playoff runs, Brunson’s playmaking and leadership will be key in their quest to become championship contenders.
