Japan’s defense ministry reports scrambling jets after a Chinese reconnaissance aircraft breached its airspace for the first time, prompting a strong diplomatic protest to Beijing.
Bollywood Fever: Japan’s defense ministry announced that it scrambled fighter jets on Monday morning in response to a Chinese reconnaissance aircraft that briefly breached its airspace.
This marks the first time a Chinese military aircraft has violated Japan’s airspace, a significant escalation that has led to a formal protest lodged with Beijing through diplomatic channels.
The incident involved a Y-9 reconnaissance plane, which entered Japanese airspace over the Danjo Islands, located west of the southern island of Kyushu.
The breach occurred between approximately 11:29 a.m. and 11:31 a.m., lasting only a few minutes, but it was enough to trigger a swift response from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces.
In light of the breach, Japan’s government has expressed its strong objections to China, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
The violation is likely to heighten tensions between the two nations, particularly as they navigate ongoing disputes over territorial waters and airspace in the region.
