Jenna Bush Hager addresses being nude in front of her children on the “Today” show, explaining it’s about privacy in her bathroom and not intentional nudity.
Bollywood Fever: Jenna Bush Hager recently addressed her comfort with nudity in front of her children during a segment on the “Today” show. When Hoda Kotb asked her co-host whether she “care[s] about walking around naked with [her] kids around,” Hager got “defensive.”
Hager, 42, who shares daughters Mila, 11, and Poppy, 8, and son Hal, 4, with husband Henry Hager, responded, “No, I don’t, but not in a gross way.” She clarified that she does not intentionally walk around naked but rather experiences moments of nudity when her children intrude on the privacy of her bathroom.
Jenna recounted a specific instance when her son barged in while she was doing her makeup and commented on her “big nickels” — which he meant to say “nipples.” The comment left her feeling “a little humiliated in [her] own home,” she joked.
“He walks in and makes fun of my ‘nickels,’ pointing and laughing and stuff and talking about their size,” she recalled. “Then I have to get on a robe, which makes me hotter!”
Kotb, who has daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 4, recommended that Jenna just “throw a T-shirt on” next time.
Jenna often shares parenting anecdotes on air, from losing a child at her eldest’s waterpark birthday party to letting her son sleep in a crib until age 4. She joked in December 2023 that her and Hoda Kotb’s broods “already need therapy.”
Her “nickel” anecdote comes three months after “Today” show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer admitted she feels “totally fine” showering with her sons. Dreyer, 42, explained in a March interview with the Daily Mail, “If … I can get everybody bathed at once, we’re good to go.” She acknowledged that as her oldest son Calvin, 7, grows older, the routine has changed, but she still finds it practical to shower with her younger children Oliver, 4, and Rusty, 2, with her husband, Brian Fichera.
