Jeremy Doku’s Decisive Strike Secures Manchester City Victory Over Fulham

Jeremy Doku’s impactful cameo and goal helped Manchester City secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Fulham. Doku’s performance could put pressure on Jack Grealish’s place in the team.

BollywoodFever: Jeremy Doku made an instant impact in Manchester City’s narrow 2-1 victory over Fulham, replacing Jack Grealish and bringing an exciting, direct style that City had been lacking. His venomous strike, which swerved into the net with just over ten minutes remaining, ultimately proved to be the match-winner. Fulham had been pressing hard for an equalizer, but Doku’s intervention gave City the breathing space they needed.

City had initially struggled, with most of their squad delivering an uninspired performance. Despite Mateo Kovacic’s two goals, which canceled out Andreas Pereira’s opener, City found themselves on the back foot for much of the game. Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz was a constant threat, and City goalkeeper Ederson was even booked for time-wasting as Fulham applied pressure.

Doku, however, provided a much-needed spark. The 22-year-old Belgian offered pace and creativity, exploiting tired Fulham legs. His display could spell trouble for Grealish, who has struggled to impress with only four Premier League goals and two assists since the start of last season. In contrast, Doku looks like a dangerous option for Pep Guardiola moving forward.

Bernardo Silva also deserved praise for his tireless contribution and clever assist, though his overall performance was not his best. Silva has long been a key figure in Guardiola’s system, earning the manager’s admiration over the years. His loyalty and consistent performances make him an invaluable part of City’s success.

Despite being under par, City once again demonstrated the resilience that has made them champions in four of the last five seasons. Marco Silva, the Fulham manager, remains winless in eleven attempts against City, missing a golden opportunity to take something from this game.
