Jessica Biel had a close call while filming a tense scene for her upcoming series, The Better Sister, in New York City on Monday. The 42-year-old actress, dressed in business casual attire, was nearly run over by a white convertible driven by what appeared to be Corey Stoll’s character. However, Biel pulled back just in time to avoid the car.
It’s uncertain whether Corey Stoll was behind the wheel for the scene or if a stand-in was used. Jessica looked composed in a navy blue blouse adorned with white dots and a floppy bow collar. Her outfit included high-waisted navy slacks that accentuated her figure, paired with brown open-toe heels and a large brown tote bag, complemented by a coffee cup in her hand. Biel sported a short, blunt-cut bob for the scene, a look she has alternated with longer hair for the series. She revealed her chic, short hairstyle during her husband Justin Timberlake’s concerts at Madison Square Garden.

The Better Sister, based on Alafair Burke’s novel, stars Biel as Chloe and Elizabeth Banks as her estranged sister, Nicky. Chloe appears to have an ideal life with her lawyer husband (Stoll) and their teenage son, while Nicky battles addiction issues. The plot thickens when Chloe’s husband is murdered, bringing the sisters together under the strain of the murder investigation. Kim Dickens is also featured in the primary cast. The Amazon Prime Video series is executive produced by Biel and Craig Gillespie, known for I, Tonya, Cruella, and Pam & Tommy.

Biel has maintained a low profile off set, following her husband Justin Timberlake’s shocking DWI arrest in June. Timberlake, who recently reunited with his NSYNC bandmates at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere, is reportedly hesitant about joining a potential 25th anniversary reunion tour for the iconic boy band, while the other members are said to be on board.
Biel’s compelling performance and the star-studded cast make The Better Sister a highly anticipated series, promising intense drama and emotional depth.
