TikTok sensation Jools Lebron skyrockets to fame with her “very demure” trend, gaining the attention of Jennifer Lopez and millions of followers for her mindful approach to beauty and life.
Bollywood Fever: Thanks to the viral “very demure” TikTok trend, Jools Lebron has catapulted to social media stardom, even catching the attention of Jennifer Lopez herself.
The 55-year-old pop icon recently recreated the trend on her social media, leaving Lebron in disbelief. “I was like, ‘Oh my God. Like, that’s a gag.’ I’ve listened to you and now you listen to me,” Lebron exclusively shared with Us Weekly at SYNERGY’s Feel the Synergy Party in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 17. She also humorously added that SYNERGY Kombucha is “very demure.”
Lebron, who proudly identifies as 100 percent Puerto Rican, revealed that Lopez was her idol growing up, making this moment even more surreal.
Earlier this month, Lebron went viral after posting a TikTok video showcasing her work makeup routine, emphasizing a minimalist approach. “You see how I do my makeup for work? Very demure. Very mindful,” she said in the clip. “I don’t come to work with a green cut crease. I don’t look like a clown when I go to work. I don’t do too much. I’m very mindful while I’m at work.”
The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 30 million views and 3 million likes, and boosting Lebron’s following to over 1.5 million. Days later, Lopez joined the trend, sharing a playful video of herself sipping from a bottle of her cocktail brand Delola with the caption, “See how I do this when I drink from the bottle? Very demure, very mindful.”
Lebron expressed her excitement not only for the celebrity endorsements but also for the beauty influencers who have embraced the trend. “I grew up an influencer kid, like, I watched all YouTube and all kinds of stuff like that,” she said. “Seeing them do the trend, and just welcome in someone that has loved them, and follow me back and show me my flowers has been everything.”
Since quitting her job at a grocery store, Lebron has reflected on the deeper meaning behind the “very demure” trend. She believes it resonates because it addresses the lack of empathy and mindfulness in how people present themselves and interact online.
“I think that people get in survival mode and they forget how they’re also being perceived when they leave a nasty comment or when they’re being rude or whatever,” Lebron noted. “Let’s be demure. Let’s be mindful of why we came. Let’s be mindful because we didn’t come to just be mean girls.”
She continued with a message of mindfulness and modesty: “We didn’t come to be messy and this applies to everything: your appearance, your mindset. Be mindful of what you think. Be mindful of your actions, and be demure, modest and reserved. That doesn’t mean a race, a color, an ethnicity, a finance. ‘Demurity’ is being the most thoughtful, mindful version of yourself.”
With her newfound fame, Jools Lebron is spreading a message of kindness and thoughtfulness, encouraging others to be mindful of their actions both online and in everyday life.
