“It Ends With Us” star Justin Baldoni shares an emotional letter to domestic violence survivors, offering support and strength as the film nears a $300 million box office milestone.
Bollywood Fever: It Ends With Us star and director Justin Baldoni took to social media to share a deeply emotional letter addressed to survivors of domestic violence.
The heartfelt message, titled “Dear Survivor,” was posted on August 30 in collaboration with the nonprofit organization No More and Survivor Love Letter, both of which aim to support and empower survivors of domestic abuse.
Baldoni’s letter begins with a powerful acknowledgment of the resilience and courage that survivors embody, qualities he describes as shining “bright even on the darkest days.” He writes, “In the tapestry of your life, each thread tells a story of endurance, strength, and hope. Every step forward you take, no matter how small, is a declaration of your unyielding spirit and an inspiration to others.”
The actor and director, who plays the role of Ryle Kincaid in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, continues by emphasizing the impact that survivors have on those around them.
“You may not always see the impact you have, but your journey encourages and motivates, lighting the path for those of us still searching for the light. While I can never fully understand your pain and all you have endured, I want you to know that you are never alone in this fight. We are with you.”
Baldoni concludes his message with words of empowerment and hope:
“You are not just surviving; you are thriving, and in your thriving, you inspire us all. May your journey forward be filled with moments of profound peace. And may you remember that as you fight for joy…you are liberating us all. Sending you gratitude, strength, and love. 💜”
The letter is part of an ongoing relationship between It Ends With Us, Wayfarer Studios, and charitable organizations like No More, reflecting the film’s deeper commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence and supporting survivors.
The release of Baldoni’s letter comes as It Ends With Us continues to make waves at the box office, with the Sony/Wayfarer film edging closer to the $300 million mark.
The drama stars Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood and embarks on a new life in Boston, where she plans to open a flower shop. Her life becomes complicated when she develops a tumultuous relationship with charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, played by Baldoni, only to have her first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), reappear, forcing her to make a life-altering decision.
Despite the film’s success, there have been rumors of discord among the cast, with reports of creative disagreements and on-set tensions involving Baldoni, Lively, Sklenar, and Jenny Slate.
In response to the speculation, Baldoni enlisted crisis PR expert Melissa Nathan of The Agency Group to manage the situation, though he has expressed support for Lively potentially directing the film’s sequel.
Brandon Sklenar also addressed the rumors in a recent statement, emphasizing the importance of the film’s message. “Colleen and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Vilifying the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about,” he said.
As It Ends With Us continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, Baldoni’s message serves as a powerful reminder of the film’s core themes and the importance of supporting those who have experienced domestic violence.
